We are a group of women who perform many ministries. Some of us visit the sick and the shut-ins, attend vigil services, offer a rosary and attend the funeral Mass for deceased parishioners, provide a meal once a month to Bethlehem Haven, serve at repasts and distribute food and clothing to the needy.
In addition, an emergency prayer line is activated when the need arises, as well as the Ministry of Prayer list in the bulletin. Short term financial help is given to those who are temporarily unable to pay utility bills. We also operate a Food Pantry here in the parish.
We are sensitive to the suffering of others, and respond with compassion and confidentiality at all times with the help that is needed. We welcome new members who wish to serve the Lord. We meet the first Monday of each month in the LeGras Conference Room at 1:00 p.m. We do not have meetings in July or August.
The Ladies of Charity of St. Louise de Marillac, attended the 60th Investiture Mass at the Cathedral on Sunday April 28th. Two new Ladies were Invested, Helen Golden from St. Louise de Marillac and Carol Lacher from St. Joan of Arc Parish. Mary Winkler, who will be our newly elected president, was honored with a medal for her 25 year service to the Ladies of Charity. A lovely dinner followed at Rodef Shalom Synagogue in Oakland.
