Altar Servers

All children after receiving their First Holy Communion are eligible to join the Ad Altare Dei Society. Ad Altare Dei means “to the Altar of God” and the purpose of the Society is to train altar servers to assist the priest at Mass as well as providing social activities for the servers from time-to-time.

Children’s Liturgy

This Liturgy is open to children ages Kindergarten through Second grade and is held on Sundays at both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Liturgies. The children are dismissed after the opening prayer of the Mass and return after the petitions are offered.

Commentators and readers have the responsibility of proclaiming the scripture readings at Mass and making sure that the words written are pronounced clearly, with appropriate meaning and delivery at Mass.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Eucharistic Ministers are authorized by the Church to help the priest with the distribution of Holy Communion when there are a high number of communicants at Mass. There are also opportunities available to distribute Holy Communion to the sick and to nearby nursing homes.

Music Ministry

The primary goal of the Music Ministry is to enhance the celebration of the Mass and other Liturgical Services with appropriate music. This includes the singing of hymns and anthems and the use of instrumental music to establish a background for prayer.

The usher is instrumental in creating an atmosphere of hospitality and friendliness with those attending Mass. The usher assists with seating, gathers the collection and distributes the Sunday bulletins.
