We welcome all senior men, 55 and over to join us. Meetings are held every other Thursday, September through May. Registration begins at 11:30 am in LeGras Parish Center (lower level) with lunch at noon. Following lunch we have a quest speaker, cards, conversation and board games to round out the afternoon. Guild Christmas Craft Show

We are pleased to invite you to the St. Louise DeMarillac Guild’s annual Christmas Craft Show. This event is anticipated by crafters and patrons alike as one of the largest and most exciting in our area. The Guild will present its own candy, bake sale, and auction.

Date:   Saturday, November 19, 2011
Time: Setup time 7:00 a.m.
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Place:    St. Louise de Marillac School and the LeGras Parish Center

Crafters will be located in the school gym and cafeteria and the LeGras Parish Center.

May 22 – Jubilee Opening Mass

Women’s Retreat

St. Louise de Marillac Women’s Retreat

Our Annual Retreat is held yearly at the Spiritan Center in Bethel Park.If you have never experienced a weekend retreat, or have been away for awhile, now is the time!

The weekend provides opportunity for spiritual direction as well as group prayer, Liturgy and Reconciliation. Or, if you desire quiet time alone with the Lord, the Spiritan Center offers a beautiful and holy space for reflection and prayer.

Men’s Retreat

The men’s retreat is held annually in early February at St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center in the Southside.

Conducted by the Passionists, the men’s retreat begins Friday evening and concludes on Sunday at noon. With quiet time, workshops, sacraments and social time, this retreat continues to provide needed spiritual nourishment to men of all ages in the parish.

The St. Louise men’s retreat group is the largest group that attends the St. Paul of the Cross Weekend Retreat each year.

Welcoming Ministry

The welcoming ministry was formed in 2009 to welcome new members into our faith community and our parish family of St. Louise de Marillac.

The committee strives to welcome each new member/family by a personal visit during which we provide a welcoming bag containing a variety of items of welcome. New volunteers, who are interested in delivering a bag along with a warm welcome, are always welcome into this ministry.

Wedding Coordinators

The wedding coordinators assist the bridal party and their families on the day of the wedding and also at the rehearsal. Two coordinators are assigned to each wedding.

This is a very social ministry and it is exciting to work with the couple and their families at such a happy time.

Refugee Mission

Our Parish has been engaged in an apostolic outreach to refugees who have been brought to Pittsburgh by Catholic Charities and now reside in Castle Shannon at Alvern Gardens.

The refugee community there is comprised mainly of Bhutanese, Burmese, Russian, Turkish and Iraqi families who have been resettled in the United States because of the persecution they suffer in their homelands. We are in need of people to mentor, provide transportation, organize food and clothing drives, donate furniture, teach ESL and plan social activities.

Bowling

Ladies of the parish are invited to join us on Monday mornings from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. at AMF Mt. Lebanon Lanes located at Rt. 19 and Connor Road.

The league bowls from September through May each year. New members are always welcome.
